E. TULLOW ER PROGRAM

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed amongst FC, Tullow, and Terra Global on the 24th January 2022 to establish a Carbon Offset Program in the transitional zone, in line with Ghana’s REDD+ Strategy.

Terra Global, working with input from the FC and Tullow conducted the initial analytical assessment to identify potential areas of investments to reduce emissions from Deforestation and Degradation (REDD+) and related Afforestation Reforestation and Revegetation (ARR) activities.

The success of the MoU resulted in the selection of project intervention areas, 14 districts in the Bono and Bono East Region and birthed the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI). The LoI, which would serve as a precursor for the Emission Reductions Payment Agreement (ERPA) was officially signed on 24th February, 2023. Awareness creation is ongoing to solicit buy-ins from National and Landscape stakeholders.
